I snuck away with a friend for an overnight Friday and a full day of treasure hunting in the sunshine on Saturday at the Brimfield Antiques Show in Massachusetts. I have heard it described as an "extravaganza" and it truly is. A 1/2 mile stretch of road with fields filled with vendors on either side. It would take 3 days to cover the whole place thoroughly and check out all 5,000+ of the vendors. We were there by 7:30am, so got a jump on the crowds and covered quite a bit of ground. My friend was on the lookout for a bench and some art. I was hunting for items I had added to my wish list over the winter and haven't been able to find at local estate sales.
I am going to clean-up this tin child's sink and make a little skirt for the opening
where it is missing a door and use if for a shelf display.
I saw a nursery lamp like this over the winter at a local consignment shop, but it was in terrible shape and too expensive. This Irmi Jack and Jill lamp had belonged to the dealer's daughter
(now 42 years old) and I couldn't resist!
I love little chairs, and this one matches a wooden doll rocker in my daughter's room.
Have you entered my giveaway?
Oh my goodness. We definitely have the same taste. I would have been sprinting for that child's sink and sweet pink chair. Please share pictures of the sweet sink again with it's little skirt makeover. It's just darling.
ReplyDeleteYour finds are FANTASTIC! Please show the little kitchen again once you add the skirt - it's adorable now; I can just imagine how precious it's going to be :)
