As I was sneaking my newest find into the house last weekend, my 6 year old daughter saw me and asked "Is that for me?" It was a scene right out of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I felt like the Grinch, stuffing presents and the Christmas tree up the chimney, caught red-handed by sweet little Cindy Lou Hoo. My daughter asked a pretty simple question,
but I didn't have a simple answer.
How do I explain that Mommy likes doll cribs just as much
(and maybe even more) than a 6 year old?
and that Mommy likes little high chairs...
and little rocking chairs...
and little step stools that I am way to big to use...
I have yet to think of a simple answer. So, the answer is always "yes, it's for both of us to share" as I hand my newest find over to my daughter and her dolls and patiently wait my turn. I guess everyday is Christmas when your mom has a passion for vintage.

I can totally relate to those questions. My craft room is filled with so many toys that I'm sure people wonder "which" person is playing with these toys?? Have fun playing and sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove these! I recently purchased a cradle for $1.00 at a garage sale. It needs painting, of course. I plan to use if Christmas as my tree is done in vintage.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiration! Thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
I bet a vintage cradle will look perfect next to your tree. Thanks for hosting such a fun link party. I also always love your beautiful tables capes. Thanks for the inspiration!
DeleteI can see why you like this stuff! So sweet and reminiscent of another era. Enjoy (sharing) your finds. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, mommy needs to learn to share! The good news is she will outgrow playing with these doll cribs someday, but I won't! Thanks for your sweet comment.
DeleteHi from your newest followers! Oh that is wonderful! I love what you brought home, too! You are a fun Mom to have. I bet you will love my post, too, because it looks like we have something in common!
ReplyDeleteBlessings new friend!

Yes, I loved your post on the vintage doll bed. I had just been dreaming of the little lamb decal I had on my bed as a child. I think it had a fuzzy texture to it. I wish it was still around.
DeleteOh these are so adorable so I can see why you like them so much!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! They don't seem to outgrow wanting what Mom brings home. :-)
