Christmas Cuteness!

A routine trip to the thrift shop can often turn emotional for me
when I come across something handmade.

Why did someone's creative efforts end up in a
discard pile headed to the thrift shop?
Was it an unwanted gift from long ago?
Was someone cleaning out a dear relative's stash and making
the hard decisions as to what to keep and what to let go?

This little pillow was just such a find.
It stopped me in my tracks.

And then I grabbed it, of course.
I couldn't resist such cuteness and the
chance to preserve this little handmade gem.

  1. I know how you feel! It seems strange what you find in a second hand store sometimes. But I guess it is true, One mans junk is another mans treasure. also, I remember when I was a new young bride, I came from a family of DIY and crafters and artists. I was blindsided to realize that other people may think designer labels more important than handmade, and even look down their noses at it! You never know!
Glad you love it and bought it!

  5. Very sweet and no doubt was donated so it would be found by you. :-) I often donate things I made by hand -- usually when I'm ready to move on to something else and don't have a need / space for the item.

  8. Seeing something like this in a thrift shop always makes me sad. How did all that work get discarded? What was its story? Good for you for rescuing that pillow and giving it a new home.

Thanks so much for joining in this week. It's nice to meet you!
